Hi, my name is Keith. I have been a patient of Dr. Hetal Amin-Patel for over 18 years. She did a lot of work on my mouth, where I had neglected and had some periodontal disease. And she did corrective surgery on that, also gave me braces to help strengthen the bone, and we worked through that for over three years. And that was an adventure since I’m an older person, and it worked out well. And we think the world of her and our family here.
Keith came to see us just as a new patient, wanting just a happy, healthy smile, and we were helping him with his periodontal disease and whatever the little dental treatment that he needed. After he really gets to know us, he realizes that we are the right place for his wife. Dawn has always been very conscious about her smile because of her tetracycline stain, and her teeth look really great. And he really wanted her to smile. He felt that because of her teeth, she doesn’t express how happy she is all the time.
I had neglected my teeth because I was a single parent. So, all my money went to my kids’ teeth. And by the time I came to Dr. Hetal Amin-Patel, it was just I needed the whole makeover I needed, you know, metal is taken out of my mouth, I needed the cavities looked at just the whole way, and I hated the color of my teeth. I was so self-conscious. Even in pictures, I never smiled.
He saw Dawn and talked about how we are going to help her and how we are going to really take away all this great smile and turn it into a beautiful, natural-looking smile. And so, for her, the ideal treatment would be porcelain veneers. So, we are preserving her natural teeth. And we are just adding facings on top of her teeth. So that way, hiding all those grays under those veneers.
There was a lot of work that had to be done before, and she was more than willing to explain every single thing she was doing. And that meant a lot to me.
We felt a connection. One there was caring there. That’s progress through the years that there are family. And by that, if I come in for a procedure, I know that they’re going to be checking on me later and several times have to see if I’m alright. And that’s what family does.
I actually smile in pictures now. And it’s made a huge difference. It made a difference in my confidence. It’s like the sunshine that’s inside gets to come out.
